"These aren't even that good. I think I could do better." That's one of the reasons I started writing. Because I was reading other articles and that thought came to mind. I've even thought that about books. Famous books. Brilliant books.
“這些都不夠好，我覺著自己能做得更好。”這就是我開始寫作的原因之一，因為我讀別人的文章時就有了那樣的想法。我甚至對書也有過那樣的想法，包括名著和經(jīng)典著作。
Who the fuck am I to think that?
我是誰呀?怎么有資格那么想?
That's my ego.
這就是我的自我價值感。
And I'm grateful for it.
而且我很感激這種自我價值感。
Because I never would've started writing without it. I never would've found something I love to do without it. I never would've been able to quit my 9-5 without it.
因為要不是自我價值感，我絕不會開始寫作，絕不會發(fā)現(xiàn)自己喜愛的事，絕不會放棄朝九晚五的'生活。
But...
但是……
Sometimes I get too caught up in it. I'll let other people's accom#plishments get inside me and make me feel bad. I becom#e jealous. I becom#e resentful.
有時我太過于深陷其中，心里會一直想著別人的成就從而產(chǎn)生對自己的不滿，我開始嫉妒、開始憤恨。
I let myself be tricked into think I'm not good enough, or doing enough, or being enough. That's when my ego becom#es unhelpful.
我開始這樣想：我不夠好，或做得不夠，或有很多不足。就在那時我的自我價值感開始變得全無益處。
I don't think having an ego is good or bad.
我覺著自我價值感既不是好事也不是壞事。
I think it's good and bad.

Uncertainty is the way things are, and trying to fight is like trying to fight an angry bear with a wet fish. It’ll just leave you exhausted, scared and broken. So relax a little. Understand that uncertainty is natural, and know that doing your best is plenty good enough as a response.
事情就是不確定的，企圖斗爭好比和一頭怒熊抗衡、爭奪鮮魚。你只會精疲力竭、擔(dān)驚受怕、身心俱碎。放松一點，明白世事無常乃常態(tài)。要知道，盡最大努力這種做法本身就是不錯的'回應(yīng)。
2. Prioritise play over success
2、兩相權(quán)衡，游戲比成功重要
Extrinsic success is easy, cheap even. So it's through play—through engaging with the things that make you feel joy or connected and experience more success than fitting in with expectations will ever give you.
外在的成功來得容易、甚至可以說來得廉價。所以說，是通過游戲競爭、去參與你覺得開心和能帶動你的事情， 去體驗更多的成功，而不是去迎合外界帶給你的期冀。
3. Stop com#paring
3、停止比較
Today, every time you com#pare yourself to someone else, you threaten to undermine your self and your efficacy, or inflate your ego. com#parison is irrelevant. The only thing that's relevant is your ability to approach a decision.
如今，每次你與他人相較，你就有貶低自己、削弱自己效益的風(fēng)險，甚至有自我膨脹的危險。比較無甚相關(guān)，唯一相關(guān)的是你做決策的能力。
